Multi-class Athletes

At Caloundra Little Athletics, we're proud to offer an inclusive and supportive environment where all children can enjoy the fun, friendships, and fitness that athletics brings, including children with disabilities.

In Little Athletics, children with a disability are referred to as multi-class athletes. Over the years, we've had the pleasure of supporting some incredibly talented multi-class athletes, many of whom have proudly represented our club at State Championships and even brought home medals!

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate, develop their skills, and achieve their personal best. Inclusion might mean small adjustments like, using a lighter shot put, a flexi-bar for high jump, or an alternative starting method on the track, but the joy and benefits of participating are the same.

If your child has a disability and you'd like to have a chat about how we can best support them or learn more about the developmental pathways available, we warmly invite you to speak with our Centre Manager on a Friday night, or send us an email at cmcaloundra@littleathletics.org.au

Multi-class athletes can also apply for an official classification through Little Athletics Australia. This helps ensure fair and meaningful competition for athletes of different abilities at Regional and State Championship events.

We're here to support every child's journey in athletics and we can't wait to cheer them on.
