A day of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit - where everyone can have a go!

The Caloundra Open Day is one of the biggest and most exciting events on our calendar - and we'd love YOU to be part of it! Whether you're a seasoned athlete, a brand-new Little Athletics Family, or a parent keen to jump in and relive your glory days, this day is all about participation, fun, and celebrating our amazing athletics community.

From tiny under 6's to high-flying teens, mums, dads and even grandparents- everyone is welcome to hit the track or field and have a go. It's a fantastic opportunity to compete in a friendly and supportive environment while making great memories with your family and friends.

What makes Our Open Day Special?

It's All About Having Fun!

Our Open Day is built around participation, good vibes, and community connection. While there are medals up for grabs, the real goal is to enjoy the day, give your best, and experience the joy of athletics in a carnival-style atmosphere.

  • U6 to U8 athletes can try up to 4 events and will receive a special participation ribbon for joining in the fun.
  • U9 to U17 (including multi-class), Opens (17-29), and Masters (30+) can compete in up to 5 events, with 1st, 2nd & 3rd place medals awarded.
  • Yes, parents - that means YOU can compete too!
  • Non-LAQ athletes are welcome but will need to be members of Queensland Athletics.
  • First evens kick off at TBC - please arrive at least 30 minutes before your events.

We Need You!

This is Caloundra Little Athletics major fundraiser of the year, and it takes a team of legends to make it all happen. We need volunteers before and during the event for things like:

  • Field prep & setup.
  • Shade tents and equipment.
  • BBQ & canteen helpers.
  • Event assistants & raffle sellers.
  • Pack up crew at the end.

Every hand helps, and we truly appreciate your support.

Important Information:

  • Alternate Date (in case of cancellation): TBC
  • Updates & Schedule Changes: Will be posted on our Facebook Page and Website.
  • No protests - the officals' decision is final.
