2024 HART SUNCOAST REGIONAL RELAYS
Relays are a special championship event in the Little Athletics calendar. A favourite with our club, it was a fantastic day where you witness the pinnacle of teamwork and camaraderie. As always, the blue and yellow army was out in force, cheering for their teammates around the track. Every year Caloundra Little Athletics stands out as one of the most supportive clubs, and it’s wonderful to witness.
This year was another successful year. With 88 kids competing compromising of 35 running relays, Caloundra Little Athletics finished with 8 Golds, 9 Silver and 1 Bronze. A very special mention to our U7 and U8 competitors. They may be small, but they know how to get everyone’s attention! 12 of our finest took the track adn field to showcase their talents adn get a tast of championship level events. Well done to all of you!
2024/25 MCDONALD'S STATE RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS
A day to remember! 18 Athletes, 23 individual entries and 5 running relays resulted in the club bringing home the following medal placings:
Gold
U12 Discus – Sophie and Emma with a combined distance of 46.46m
Silver
U14 Girls 4 x 100m relay – Summer, Sophie, Caitlin and Ella with a time of 54.73
U11 Boys Discus – Parker and Lewis with a combined distance of 51.52m
U9 Mixed High Jump – Maya and Anto jumping a total of 2.02m
U11 Mixed Shotput – Chernaya and Kolbe with a combined distance of 14.06m
Bronze
U11 Boys Shotput – Lewis & Lincoln with a combined distance of 16.43m

Another year at the University of the Sunshine Coast Little Athletics Track. Caloundra had 60 athletes competing, with large numbers across our U9-U12 age groups. With a slew of personal best, and great sportsmanship on show, Caloundra topped off the weekend with the following amazing results:

Finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful CLAC family. A big thank you to the committee, our volunteers and parents who put in time every week to help our club function. You play a massive part in the success of teh club, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. A special mention to Jackie, Nay and Jenn who stepped in at the last minute to take on the TM role at the State Championships.

As a special mention, Taylor Chapman who now holds another Queensland Best Performance record for the 1500m Walk. A remarkable performance saw her shave 11 seconds off the previous U12 Girls record, completed the race in a record time of 7:11:04. A massive congratulations Taylor, you are one of a kind. Amber managed to claim the 100m and 200m titles for the 4th year in a row. A silver in Shot put and Bronze in Javelin to top off a successful weekend.

2024/25 AUSTRALIAN LITTE ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS
A huge congratulations goes to Ryan W, our sole QLD representative, who competed at the Australian Little Athletics Championships in Adelaide earlier this year. Ryan had a very successful championship earning a bronze in the U14 Boys Javelin and Shotput, as well as 6th in Discus. We are super proud of teh way in which you humbly represent Caloundra Little Athletics and congratulate you on some amazing results. A truly remarkable athlete who takes it all in his stride. No doubt we will see him again representing the state in years to come.
